James Boddu grew up in Washington, D.C. and graduated with honors from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He obtained his medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington D.C. where he graduated with distinction and was elected into both the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society and the Golden Humanism Honor Society. Additionally, he was nominated and selected as President of GW’s AOA Chapter. He is a member of both the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He is interested in all aspects of cranial and spinal neurosurgery – both clinically and scholarly – and has plans of pursuing a career in academic neurosurgery. His specific research interests include designing and integrating novel neurosurgical technologies and devices for both clinical, intraoperative, and perioperative use.​
