Conferences Neurological Surgery Grand Rounds are held weekly. Conferences are also scheduled each week in Neurology, Neuro-oncology, Epilepsy Surgery, Neuro-ophthalmology, Neuroradiology, and Neuropathology. Journal Club and Morbidity - Mortality Conference are incorporated into the Grand Rounds schedule. Dr. Heros runs a one-hour service report and informal teaching conference three times a week. Dr. Levi runs a weekly joint spine conference with the orthopedic spine service. We also have visiting professor conferences on a variety of topics. Chief Residents hold a weekly one to two hour resident conference aimed at preparing for written boards. Also The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis holds several weekly conferences on a variety of neuroscience topics.
Hubert Rosomoff Research Day This annual educational event is held on May 30th, and includes presentations of original research by the residents, fellows, and clinical faculty, as well as visiting professors. The day is named in honor of the long career in clinical research of Dr. Rosomoff, the department’s retired Chairman Emeritus.
Neurosurgery Olympics Every year in April, the clinical faculty, residents, and fellows participate in Neurosurgery “Olympic Events”. We compete with the University of Florida for state bragging rights and a trophy. The event promotes education, fitness, fun and comradery for our residents and fellows. |
