The Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has been once again recognized as a national leader. The National Institutes of Health has ranked us third in the nation in research funding, and U.S. News and World Report’s most recent publication has ranked us among the top neurosurgical programs in the nation.

Our talented neurological surgeons belong to not just one of the largest departments in the nation, but one of the best.  Our scope of practice includes the care of patients with injuries of the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves. The programs of excellence include the surgical and endovascular management of patients with cerebrovascular disease, brain and spinal cord tumors, trauma, spine and movement disorders and seizures in both adults and children. The world-renowned neurosurgical team at UM is dedicated to advancing the field through a major commitment to research and education as well as excellence in patient care.

Our patients and their families often express their appreciation by making a donation to further the work of a specific physician or service, or in memory of a loved one.  Donations will be used to further our research on neurological surgical conditions and education of future neurosurgeons, which in the future may help you or a loved one.
