The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis

The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, a Center of Excellence at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, is a comprehensive scientific research program centered on spinal cord injury.  Because of the Department’s affiliation with the University's Miami Project, patients of the Spine Institute benefit from research developments that are not routinely available at other centers.

The Miami Project’s dedicated team of basic scientists, clinical research scientists, post-doctoral fellows and graduate students work together with the Department’s physicians, nurses and allied health professionals in a unique, integrated environment where they share a common mission: Finding more effective treatments for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury and other neurological injuries and disorders.

Directed by Drs. Dalton Dietrich and Barth Green, The Miami Project shares a strong collaborative effort with other basic laboratory and clinical departments within the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center as well as with laboratories and clinical departments throughout the United States and around the world. Miami Project scientists, both basic and clinical, represent the cutting edge of neuroscience research.
